Funfilled Weekend – Nuffnang Movie Night

Remember my post about correcting past mistakes here? Well, looks like I posted early enough to secure me and Babe free tickets to a special screening of XMEN: Days of Furure Past movie hosted by Nuffnang Philippines. The movie was held in the Shangri la Cineplex Cinema 1 last Friday (And yes, this was in the evening whilst our appointments were done during the day).

It was a night of firsts, from it being our first time in that mall, our first time to watch a free movie sponsored by Nuffnang, and etcetera. We lined up to register and were lucky to get good seats, and there was also free food. Aside from the movie itself, the highlight of my night was meeting Mr. Richie Zamora of the Pickiest Eater.

Fangirl moment. Sayang his wife was not with him, would have loved to meet her din. They look like very nice people kasi eh.

Going back to the movie, it was a mash up of the 2 generations of Xmen who wanted to change the course of history for everyone. I won’t go into details anymore as it would be best to watch it instead. One thing is for sure though, I would be on the look out for the torrent download once the HD version has been released.

I am so glad I am a member of Nuffnang. I get to score movie tickets and let me meet the awesome people behind the blogs I frequently visit.

X-MEN: Days of Future Past

What would you correct from your past to save the future?

A very interesting question indeed. Personally, I have done a lot of mistakes in the past, even as I am typing now, but I never really thought of the implications of those for the future. Would it be impacting? Was it bad enough to damage someone? Was it something that I have regrets about? I don’t know. But this would be the right time to talk about it now.

I had to let go of my cats after I gave birth. This may be one of the things I would like to correct. They were babied since I got them as kittens. They were so domesticated that I feel they would not do well outside. During that time, I was under pressure to make a choice. And the choice was my husband and son, against keeping them. I shouldn’t have made that decision. I should have made an alteration instead. I should have just kept them outside, where I can still feed them. Now I know it’s too late. The possibility that they may have starved, worst, died still lingers on my mind now and then. This is one choice that I know will forever burden me, and I am not proud of it. Not one bit.

Transform Yourself With Schick

If you had the powers of MAN OF STEEL for one (1) week, how would you use it?

Considering that this is Superman we are talking of, I can only think of a few things. Some out of the  most selfish reasons only because I am a mom. However, if I am to steal a line from Spiderman, “with great power comes great responsibility”, thus, here are my thoughts on how I would use the Man of Steel’s power if I had it for a week:

  1. Use my flying powers to travel everywhere I want. This way, I’d get to experience other country’s culture and taste any food in my liking, especially those featured in Adam Richman’s Man vs. Food.
  2. Use my superhuman strength to scale mountains in the Philippines and eventually those abroad (IMHO, this might not be fun as it seems kasi effortless na if ever).
  3. Using my heat vision, I would carve my son’s face on the surface of the earth using my heat vision. It’s going to be so large that google maps would see it, with a quote, “Geoff was here” (tipong Mount Rushmore lang ang peg).
  4. Speed in order to get things done, like errands and houseworks that takes too much time. More quality time with my boys.
  5. Super hearing abilities, to really know who are true to me and those who aren’t (haha!)

Those are just some of what I can think of. On a more serious note, I have also asked some people as to what they think about the question. One unselfish answer caught my attention, and I think, it is worthy to be copied (with his permission, of course). He said, “ Ako wala ako gagawin. dahil magiging imbalanced ang mundo kung meron ako gawin sa 1 week na iyon.” True, no?

Anyway, since I do not have the power, and I am a woman (naks), I’d rather have my very own superman. And what man can be superman if you have a hairy face (no offense!)? Good thing, hubby regularly shaves and is clean looking all the time. Wanna know what he uses? it’s Schick!

Schick. Free Your Skin.

Sure, I have been attracted to guys with goatees before, but I wouldn’t trade Babe’s smooth face with anyone anytime. Would not want to wish for more, as I have my own Superman.

Special thanks to Babe and my friends from TWSD for giving me ideas 🙂

Iron Man, Here We Come!

I love being a Nuffnanger.

They often give away tickets to awesome movies. I also won a ticket to Oz the Great and Powerful before but did not make the screening time due to an unavoidable conflict. Anyway, I was really sad that I missed that, however, they had another contest for free movie tickets. This time, it is for Iron Man 3! Won’t that make Babe’s day.

Babe has been excited ever since he saw the trailer when we watched The Croods. Thank you Nuffnang and Sun Cellular!

Sun Cellular, The Good Choice in Postpaid

I have been living on my own ever since I started working. Things are different now that I am married and with a kid of course. Though my status and priorities have changed, there is still one thing that did not. Believe it or not, that would be my Sun postpaid subscription.

Loyal ba kamo? Even with my prepaid days, Sun pa din ako!

Being a loyal subscriber for almost 8 years, I can say that there are still some ups and downs to it. After all, not all services are perfect but I can say that I am still a satisfied customer. I am still enjoying the perks of the service for only P999 a month. This is quite a steal as it covers both my phone and data connection. I get to do unlimited browsing and downloads on a daily basis. We are not into computer games, thus, the speed itself (up to 2mbps) is just perfect for our everyday data consumption. I have never had any issues with the phone line itself, as I have unlimited call and texts to fellow sun subscribers. On top of that, I still have 250 texts for free to other networks. Sulit na sulit talaga.

Right now, there are a lot of new phone models in the market. It is just a matter of choosing the right plan to go with it. As such, Sun offers the slimmest phones for free if you avail of their plan 600 or 999. The Alcatel phones are such a steal! Babe got the Alcatel Idol for plan 600. It has unlimited call and texts, P250 consumable, and 350 texts to other networks. There is a lock in period, so it’s like paying for the phone on an installment basis, and the unlimited service at the same time. I can say, the price we pay is already worth the service.

BTW, for Sun plan 999, it includes unlimited mobile internet, 4 hours of Sun calls, and unlimited Sun texts. Good buy, right?

Android is in! Get connected 24/7 with these babies

Honestly, I don’t see myself changing providers anytime. I am happy with the service, and the price I pay is very budget friendly.

An Epic Sunday

The McCormick Grill of the Nation was held last Sunday at the Bonifacio Global City. This was the first food event that I have been to, and I can honestly say that Babe and I enjoyed it. The even started at 4 PM but we arrived a little past 5 PM. The yaya went on day off, so we brought Geoff along with us. We had a bit of a problem with the baby as he did not take his nap that afternoon. So after a few minutes on transit, the baby finally fell asleep and we had to make him sleep in his stroller after we arrived at the venue.

We registered and paid P100 each. We were then handed a ticket with different stubs for the food carts that were present during the event. There were at least 12 carts, then there was a bigger stub which you have to give the cart who you think is best. I was robbed of this opportunity which I will get to in a bit.

First let me talk about the venue. It was supposed to be held on the corner of 9th avenue and O Lane, however, we found that it was in the middle of the plaza itself, which was easily accessible by the people who wanted to watch the concert. This was fine. I was glad they did as we did not want to spend so much time looking for it because we have a baby with us. What I did not like was that there were very few seats! With a number of loot bags they prepared, I did not think that it matched the number of seats available. Maybe the people enjoyed too much and prolonged their stay, bottom line, we ended up sitting on the bench which was located just outside the booth. Good thing it had a nice view of what I am going to feature next.

I liked the lady who was performing. I did not get her name, but she was really lively, and the song choices was very upbeat. I was kinda dancing (more like rocking) while waiting in line on some of the carts. Geoff finally woke up and with the blasting sound from the speakers nearby, I think he was still trying to warm up with the happenings around him. I even feed him bits of what we were eating (Yes, because he is kinda inggitero din, like that! harhar!). Babe pointed someone standing by the sides. Now, this is the second highlight of the day. OMG! On my direct peripheral was Basti Artadi of Wolfgang. I just had to take the opportunity and have our picture taken!

Sorry, just had my cam phone and a nice lady took this shot for us.

Third reason, there was free food! Who couldn’t resist free food, right?

Anyway, I had a not so nice experience with one of the carts. Since Babe was minding the baby and the things, I was the one to go around and get food. Picture me with one plate in hand, and another with the stub. I was then at Iway’s cart. I asked the gentleman to rip the stub for me and get their designated stub. When he gave it back, it does not have the best food stub anymore. Biniro ko pa nga na hindi ko pa tapos tikman lahat, and he was only supposed to get their stub, pati ung pang vote, kinuha nya. Well, hindi nya binalik ung stub and ngumiti lang. Bad trip ako kay kuya. He took away my right to vote for the cart that I thought was best.

After eating, we decided to take a stroll since it was Geoff’s first time in BGC, plus, there was no space for us there anyway. The baby was so busy looking around and the one regret that we had that day was that we did not have any camera. We were not able to capture priceless moments and expressions. He was mostly fond of the fountain that looked like infinity pool, the one that looked like a shower, and the floor foutain in front of the Market Market! mall. He ate ice cream, walked and crawled on the grass, watched the dogs (there were a LOT of dogs, particularly Siberian Huskies), and generally drowned the sights. Too bad the night has to end and we have to go home.

Geoff slept straight that night. When morning came, he was still very cheerful baby who kept on hugging his Mickey Mouse toy while grinning from ear to ear. Just goes to show that he really enjoyed the day before, thus, a promise to the little one that we will do it more often. 🙂

P.S. BTW, I won a grill kit from McCormick courtesy of Nuffnang. I am just waiting for my prize to be delivered since I am from outside Metro Manila. Nonetheless, even if I did not get to win anything from the actual event, I still thank them for the opportunity as it paved way for the baby’s enjoyment and ours too!
