Throwback Thursday

A couple of months ago, I started seeing hashtags for Throwback Thursday, Back then, I was still in my “ignoramus” mode and was wondering what it was for. The only clue I had was that the pictures were old, that it must be a trend somewhere, and someone must have started the said fad. So anyway, I finally got the chance to jump in on the band wagon and here I am today, spamming everyone on facebook for what I think were very good #throwbackthursday pictures (haha!).

I have posted these earlier:

Our certificate for completing the Mt. Ugo traverse. 2011 (Ang payat ko. syet.)

Jop and Rai when they were a 4 months old. BI si Rai, tutok sa TV!

Jop’s first taste of Cerelac when he was 5 months old. Yes. We were excited and could not wait to feed him.

Still, there are some things that I miss, and here are some of the snippets down the memory lane:

After party, Josu’s wedding, 2009

My original baby, Kuking. I don’t think I will forgive myself. Ever.

First topload and visit to Palawan. 2011. With Rney and Bambi

The climb that started my passion for mountain hiking. Mt. Manabu. Special thanks to Jaimie and family

So there. I wanted to share more pictures, but I can’t seem to find most of it. This is throwback thursday and I guess, most people wanted to re-live moments in their lives to have something to smile and laugh about.

A Look Back On How My 2011 Was

2011 has been one of the most interesting, fun, and blessed year for me. Let me do a quick glance on how it was for me:

A back shot on my way to the peak 🙂 – Mt. Kalisungan

January – I was still contemplating on what to do with my life. I  didn’t know what I want, nor what I was looking for. Luckily, this was also the month when I was able to rekindle old flames of friendship with the Piknikers group. I was able to climb Mt. Kalisungan in Laguna and Mt. Cinco Picos in Zambales.

From one of the peaks – Mt. Cinco Picos

This was also the month when I vowed to be a healthier me. It was a good thing na nagkaroon ako ng climb buddies na naging malaki ung influence when it comes to being responsible to nature.

From the peak of Mt. Arayat 🙂

February – Nothing special. I had a massage and a body scrub on Valentines day and the lady from the reception gave me a stemmed rose. Maybe because she thought it was pathetic to be alone during heart’s day (harhar!). Chaka pala merong dayhike this month. Mt. Arayat is what I would call, one of the most enjoyable climb for me. No mosquitoes and the weather at the time was not too hot.

Mt. Pulag from a distance, a view from the peak of Mt. Timbak

I also experienced my first hike in a very cold place – Benguet. Together with my fellow Piknikers, we went to Mt. Timbak to witness the wonders of the mummies and what the locals would call the sacred burial grounds.

On our way to the Underground River

Before I forget, Rney (a very close friend), Bambi, and I went to witness the wonders of Palawan. Such beautiful beaches. scenery, and great people.

Dami ko pala gala ng February. Ngayon ko lang na-realize after back tracking and uploading a few selected pictures. 😛

March – Mejo pahinga ako nito sa dami ng bookings ko for February. Ito din ata ung month na bad trip ako kase merong nangungulit na paulit ulit lang naman ung sinasabi. Oh well, I can’t remember much but this month was so and so for me. 🙂

On my way to the top – Mt. Makiling

April – The Piknikers scheduled a Mt. Makiling dayhike this month, as well as a beach getaway during the holy week. I was wasted during the Makiling climb but it was all worth it.

With the gang, pauwi na sa wakas! 🙂

We also went to Calatagan, Batangas to spend the holy week. This was the first holy week that I spent away from home. 🙂 This was also the last month that I am to be considered as single. 🙂

With Jeff, before I called him Babe 🙂

May – This was a special month. This was the month when Babe and I first realized our feelings for each other. It all started with a climb in Mt. Gulugod Baboy in Batangas.

Wet look! – From the peak of Mt. Cristobal

We climbed Mt. Cristobal as part of our training climb. This was the first time I climbed with non-stop rain and without Pik, Ton, or Bampi with us.

Greetings from Mt. Ugo!

June – This month, we climbed Mt. Ugo. This was considered a major climb as we had to do a traverse from Nueva Viscaya to Baguio. We were unable to see the view as we climbed this mountain together with the typhoon Falcon 🙁

A formality in pictures

July – This is Ms. Ae’s wedding month. We went to Tagaytay as the wedding and reception is to take place there.  We went to Picnic Grove and Tagaytay highlands. And no, we did not get to eat bulalo 🙂

August – We confirmed baby Gabe’s existence 🙂  No pictures yet since he still looked like a gummy bear in the ultrasound reports. This was also Babe’s birthday month. I gave him a tool box as a gift 🙂

Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Perez 🙂

September – My birthday and wedding month. This was also the month I resigned after a 7 year stay in Concentrix.

Enjoyed the dinner at Leslie’s

October – Monica and Ryan, college classmates and buddies got married. We attended their wedding and had a falling out with another good friend because of immature circumstances. We still enjoyed the day, though.

Our little baby boy 🙂

November – Baby Gabe is a boy! We got what we wished for, and as an added bonus, he is healthy and all organs are developing and working fine. 🙂

With the family, less Cyv and Naneng, who took the picture

December – Our first christmas together. We spent it in Tagaytay and Las Pinas. Looking forward to more christmases and new years together. 🙂

As mentioned, 2011 has been good to me and my family. Babe and I are looking forward to the blessings of 2012. Starting from our careers, to baby Gabe’s firsts to come 🙂
